MATH 1107 Numbers and Number Relations for Elementary Teachers (3-0-0) 3 Credits UT The study of numbers and number relations with a focus on understanding and explaining the concepts of arithmetic. Topics include number sense, prime numbers, operations and their properties, and the proper use of mathematical language. Course pedagogy involves students as active participants in the learning process through activities, problem-solving, and journals. This course is intended, but not exclusively, for elementary education majors who plan to transfer to a four-year institution. This course cannot be used to fulfill the general education math degree requirement. Equivalent to CMAT 1413, Louisiana Board of Regents Common Course Matrix. Pre-requisite(s): C or better in MATH 1105 Concurrency: None Co-requisite(s): None
