PSYC 2090 Death and Dying.(3-0-0) 3 Credits UT This survey course offers a broad overview of the psychological aspects of death and dying in our society. Topics include attitudes toward and preparation for death; the understanding of and care for terminally ill patients; funeral rituals; burial, mourning and grief practices; grief counseling; suicide and euthanasia. Readings and classroom activities will be supplemented by students’ self-exploration and writing on feelings, attitudes and beliefs about death.
