NURS 2300 Adult Health Nursing III(4-12-12) 8 Credits UT The course focuses on nursing care of adult patients experiencing life-threatening or complex health conditions. It also emphasizes management of the health care environment and the role of the professional nurse. Included with the conditions is the importance of providing patient-centered care, therapeutic communication, supporting teamwork, and providing for patient safety. The significance of evidence-based practice, cultural diversity and quality improvement is also integrated to promote positive patient outcomes. Correlation of course content and patient care will be provided in hospital medical-surgical units in the community. Pre-requisite(s): NURS 2200 , NURS 2220 with grades of “C” or better Concurrency: None Co-requisite(s): None
