A Certificate of General Studies is awarded upon the completion of ENGL 1010, ENGL 1020, MATH 1105 or MATH 2020, two (2) Elective Courses, and one course in each of the following categories: Fine Arts, Humanities, Social/Behavioral Science, Natural/Physical Science, and General Education Elective.
1BIOL 2017 may be taken as a substitute for BIOL 2022/2023 & BIOL 2032/ 2033. Students taking BIOL 2017 must take an additional 4 credits of elective courses to substitute for BIOL 2022 and 2023 and BIOL 2032 and 2033.
2Either BIOL 2017 and an elective course or BIOL 2022/ 2023 /2032 /2033 may be used to fulfill the degree requirements.
3Students looking to transfer to a Medical Lab Science course should complete CHEM 1031 to fulfill this requirement.
4 Students may substitue these courses with an approved elective by the program coordinator or dean.
5 Complete either BIOL 1011 or CHEM 1031. Students should take the lab course while taking the lecture course. If a student elects to take BIOL 1011 during semester two with BIOL 1010 then they should take CHEM 1030 without the lab. If a student takes BIOL 1010 without the lab they should then take CHEM 1030 and 1031 during semester 4. Students are permitted to take both BIOL 1011 and CHEM 1031, however, it should be noted the student will then have 61 credits toward degree completion.
6 HSAS 2000 may be used as an elective in this program.
