HIST 1021 Western Civilization II (3-0-0) 3 Credits UT An introductory survey course designed to follow the growth of the Western state system and of Western expansion from the early 16th century to the present day. Emphasis will be placed on the development of modern science and secular thought, the age of revolutions, the emergence of industrial and technological advancement and the rise of social conscience and protest. this course will also cover major conflicts and the contemporary crises that are their legacy. HIST 1021 is summarized as a survey of world history from 1500 to the present. Equivalent to CHIS 1023, World Civilization II, Louisiana Board of Regents Common Course Matrix. Pre-requisite(s): Eligibility for ENGL 1010 Concurrency: None Co-requisite(s): None
