CHEM 1030 General Chemistry I (3-0-0) 3 Credits UT This course is designed for students majoring in science and builds a foundation for other science and technology courses. This course introduces concepts in nomenclature, atomic and molecular structure, chemical equations and stoichiometry, gas laws, bonding, quantitative problem solving, introduction to periodicity, energy relationships, and solutions. Either CHEM1030 or CHEM1035 or CHEM 1010 may be used to fulfill a degree plan requirement. Equivalent to CCEM 1123, Chemistry I (Science Majors), Louisiana Board of Regents Common Course Matrix. Pre-requisite(s): ACT Math score of 17 or above/equivalency to Accuplacer/SAT or a grade of “C” or better in MATH 1105 and ACT English score of 15 or above/equivalency to Accuplacer/SAT or a grade of “C” or better in ENGL 1010 Concurrency: None Co-requisite(s): None
