MATH 0088 Foundational Algebra Workshop

MATH 0088 is a supplement to the MATH 1105 course. MATH 0088 provides guidance and practice of foundational algebraic skills as well as arithmetic, number sense, and numerical reasoning. Content includes solving and graphing linear equations and inequalities, operations on polynomials and factoring, solving quadratic equations, and operations on rational expressions along with support and additional exposure to the basic skills of functions and systems of linear equations required to succeed in a college algebra course. As an intermediate course, MATH 0088 will reinforce proficiency in calculator usage, provide intensive review, and incorporate enhanced academic support in its delivery. A scientific calculator is required; a graphing calculator is optional. This is a supplemental course that cannot be used for certificate or degree programs. Students enrolled in MATH 0088 must also be enrolled in the designated companion MATH 1105 during the same semester.
